Minibreak - Middle East
UAE: Dubai and Ras Al Khaimah January to February 18, 2021. In the time of Covid we expected to be in Dubai for 20 days before going back to register. Our 20 days ended up being 7 weeks and 2 Emirates. We stayed at the Double Tree for a few days, then moved to the Conrad and then moved to an AirBnB in RAK. Temperatures we perfect, in the 70's and there were almost no Covid requirements, everything was open.
Saudi Arabia and a lay over on the way back in Dubai - October 9-17, 2021. An Ad-hoc trip to go with Chris on business to Riyadh. My first time in Saudi Arabia and, after a rocky entrance to the country was a great trip. Highlights were AlUla and Hegra, We especially enjoyed The Pink Camel Restaurant, the writing on the rocks left by the ancient travellers at Jabal Ikmah, and hiking up to "the bottle" near elephant rock.
