My trip in March 2020 was only to last a few days, as I changed planes to longer haul destinations.  I never thought I would be stranded for 6 months.  Things happen for a reason and this turned out to be a very good thing as England had many fewer cases of Covid than did California.  I added some blogs regarding day to day activities which included hiking, knitting, exercising, playing with the rabbits, adopting a retirement community and creating regular newsletters from the rabbits for them, cooking and studying Chinese....

In May 2021 we were able to take a minibreak to Wales over the bank holiday.  Was great to get out to see this part of the country and we'll definitely return.  Wales now has a special place in my heart since this is where Chris proposed.

I finally got my settlement visa in early June.  There was a bit of free time after getting the visa and I really wanted to start doing a long distance path.  Exmoor was totally booked, but we were able to get some final rooms on the South West Coastal Path which we started on June 15, 2021

We started looking at hiking the long distance paths.  We haven't finished any yet, but have started The Shipwright's Way (2020), The South West Coastal Path (June 2021) and The Dale's Way (February 2022).

Hiking to Sheffield Wednesday Games is another way to try build up mileage along the many hiking paths in England.
