Back to Delhi

October 11 from the itinerary: Depart at 12 noon and transfer, (30 min) to Bagdogra airport (18 km) for flight UK 726 depart 14.20 / arrive 16.35. End of services.

I will be glad to leave Original World tourism and swap this for &Beyond. I am expecting great(er) things. Original World has been a 4 year journey to use up all my voucher from the 2020 Covid mess that caused delays and postponements.

A note about today's trip - you can see from the map that I was currently very near Bhutan and I fly back to Delhi, in order to turn around tomorrow and fly back to Bhutan. Piss poor planning on my part - I had already paid for the ticket back to Delhi when I decided to come to Bhutan....

Breakfast was a huge buffet which stretched almost half a city block.

Geez- Ali today tells me he’s been ill in the night with a fever and respiratory issues. Wonder if this started yesterday and was in a car with him all day. I really don’t need to be exposed….didn’t shake his hand at the end. Here are Ali and Chini and the car

Met again Isabella and Vassia at the airport going to Kolkatta. Her sister and Simon and the girls are going on my flight to Delhi, as well as the British food guy who I met at Glenburn. How nice of him to share that he has “Delhi belly”….

I saw this interesting sign in the airport

I always manage to miss my “meet and greet” and it was the same today. Luckily I always have a contact name/number and we found each other immediately.

It was so nice to be in an air conditioned car (was 30 degrees C when I landed), with snacks and water. The road was smooth - also really comfortable after a week of broken roads.

The Hyatt is definitely a higher class option over the Pullman and, overall so far, &Beyond is a much higher class operation than Original World.

The free mini bar, fruit and Chocolate in the room and bound itinerary book are such nice touches. This was my dinner for the evening:)
