Boats with eyes

One thing I remember from my prior trip to Malta is the boats with eyes so they can see where they're going. Now we couldn't find any at Valletta and I read about Marsaxlokk, a fishing village, that still has them. In addition we went on a Sunday - market day (turned out not to be such a great market). We decided to go here on our way north - to catch the Gozo Ferry. The name Marsaxlokk comes from the word “marsa” which means port and the word “xlokk” which means south in Maltese. Marsaxlokk has an old history dating back to the ninth century BC. It was in this bay that the first Phoenicians arriving in Malta landed and set up their businesses.
