Day 15 - Our Last Day and Departure

Hard to believe our trip is finally over after 6 months waiting and 3 months training.

No big surprise that Shaun's request we have bags downstairs and ready for bus at 8:30 was wrong and the bus came probably 15 minutes after that time. Other tour guides had it correct, so yet another example of his inattention to detail.

My bag was so unwieldy that Tim took pity on me and helped me lug it to the bus stop. We weren't at the airport so terribly early and I was able to get a trolley - thank goodness. Peter hung out with us before he headed off on the train and we went for a coffee while waiting.

The flight boarded on time, but was delayed due to insufficient workers on the UK end. Once we landed we had to wait further for the jetway - same reason. That said, there was no wait for the bags which was a nice change for me.

I said goodbye to Lisa :( and tried to find my taxi which was not where I expected. After about 15 minutes we finally connected and had an uneventful ride back home.

One of the first thing I did was to unpack and throw out that stupid duffel bag!

Interesting is that it looks like I'll be losing 3 toenails from this hiking trip:)

What a trip! Wonderful weather, wonderful company with Lisa and the fellow hikers. Wonderful route and unforgettable views. Hopefully this is what I'll remember and not the drama or guide issues.
