Hiking to Sugarloaf - Gateway to other Irish mountains

This was a great walk that I did twice. I was hoping the second time would be drier, hence I'd be able to walk farther, but that was not to be. The great thing about the walk is it takes you up to a ridge that connects several hill tops in the Wicklow Range. I was able to walk up to Sugarloaf and then walk across to Lobawn, Pollaghadoo. If it had been drier, I could have walked all the way to Table Mountain and Lugnaquilla. I saw a red deer and a frog and some sort of bird that looked like a grouse, but sounded like a dog's bark.

I ended up walking through 3 bogs which progressively got worse. In the second bog my foot fell into a hole with water - left foot totally drenched. In the second bog my right foot slipped and I got sucked knee deep into the mud. It took about 5 minutes to pull myself out.

A great way to finish hiking in Eastern Ireland.
