October 5, 2019, from our Itinerary: Free day in Kathmandu to explore the city.

Today I went to explore Swayambhunath Mahachaitya, this is an ancient religious complex atop a hill in the Kathmandu Valley, west of Kathmandu city. The Tibetan name for the site means 'Sublime Trees', for the many varieties of trees found on the hill. There were so many monkeys I call it the monkey temple.

There were what seemed like a million steps to get to the top. It was still hard, even though I had just been to EBC:)

This evening we had a "last supper" and everyone got a certificate of completion!

The next day I was on the long journey home with one stop in Delhi. It was nice to be home after several weeks of traveling.
