Returning Home and Trip Wrap-up

September 14, 2024 from the itinerary: Return on BA0599 business class VCE to LHR Terminal 5.

It was an early morning to catch the 08:45am flight, so no breakfast at the hotel. Trying to get my bag to close the night before was a bit of a challenge. How did my clothing expand so much in 9 days, even though I got rid of the two bottles of wine I brought over!

I chose this hotel because there was free transport to the airport. I was amazed when there was a sedan waiting outside with a driver...and it was free.

The situation at the airport was unexpected - the line to check-in was a mile long and I was very early for my flight. BA in it's infinite wisdom, scheduled two flights about an hour apart. It didn't help that passengers were showing up late, that check-in personnel were requiring a drivers license check for those going to America. I waited 50 minutes to get checked in - then realized I had a battery in my luggage, so had to dig that out before giving over my bag.

By that point Lisa and Ann were only a few minutes behind me, even though I arrived an hour before they did. We were all on the same flight and Lea was also on our flight. We had a last glass of champagne in the lounge before boarding

Breakfast was an omelet and was rather good, the champagne was too warm.

I'm glad we didn't have any mice with breakfast - this happened on a flight from Oslo - when it happens the flights need to land because the rodents tend to eat through important wires.

The trains home were full and not so easy to find a seat. These people were not very accommodating

Another adventure ends...until my next one.
