Breakfast was REALLY late - couldn't have it until 8 and finally finished at 8:40. Had a really tasty poached egg on spinach on toasted sourdough. Turned out to be a 15 mile day and was really worried to reach Seaton before it got dark. Weather was perfect again, which was really good. This walk was rated as Moderate
I started from The Anchor and up to a bluff, then on to the highest hill on the coast of England called Golden Cap and could see Weymouth and Seaton from here. Walked downhill from there through Stanton St. Gabriel and a ruined church. I finally had a sit down in Lyme Regis with an ice cream before starting the last leg of the journey through the under cliff region.
This area is up/down hills, lots of mud, slippery roots. Beautiful canopy all the way here. Just made it out when the sun started to go down for the last mile into Seaton. I put on my head lamp for the last half mile, so was glad I brought them. Met Chris along the seafront and we walked together to the EyreCourt Hotel. This is Robert Burns bonfire night. We didn't see any bonfires, but heard fireworks when we went out for dinner. This is where I decided to have a Silly Cow beer.
