Snow, Snow, Snow

Burnsall to Kettlewell was a snowy, 10.7 mile day. It was very wet and muddy underfoot and we were both glad our boots were well waterproofed.

There was a lot of flooding, so we took an alternate route. The snow flakes were so big they would fall in your mouth. We walked through one field with sheep and all of a sudden all the sheep started bleeting and we saw the farmer coming down on his ATV hauling hay. The sheep started running after him.

We finally made it to Cornistone where we were hoping for a pub, but there was none. We had to hike across to the main road where we were able to stop at the Tradesmans Arms for a rest out of the snow and tried to dry out a bit. The snow stopped while we were there and the sun came out.

After our break we hiked back to Cornistone and continued down the valley watching the sun play on the hills and the snow.

We came into Kettlewell which we found out is where Calendar Girls was filmed.
