The impressive St John’s Co-Cathedral is a Roman Catholic cathedral in Valletta dedicated to Saint John the Baptist. It was built between 1572 and 1577 by the Knights of Malta on request of Grand Master Jean de la Cassière to act as the Conventual Church of Saint John. Its design is a prime example of Baroque architecture. It was a beautiful jewel in Valletta - guild on the walls and ceilings and inlay in the floors. There was a chapel for each of the countries sponsoring the Knights of Malta. It was one of the highlights of our day in Valletta
