October 11, 2024 and today we start on our adventure to Chile and Bolivia.
It was freezing cold in Liphook this morning, I wore a down coat under my fleece and I was still cold on the walk to the train
The bus connection was late, but we still got to the BA First class lounge in time for champagne and a snack
before catching our delayed Iberia flight to Madrid.
Boarding was incredibly slow and tedious, as the Spaniards have a different relationship to time and discipline.
We had the row to ourselves on the 2 hour flight to Madrid where we will be overnighting before catching our flight to Chile tomorrow.
I had a “Mediterranean “ box with vegetable based food, while buni had a beer and chips (good buni)
Thankfully, we didn’t have long to wait for the Airport Hilton bus. This was the same hotel we used in the way to the Galapagos earlier in the year.
We got a double upgrade to a suite with a jacuzzi, which was a relaxing end to the day.
