Torquay to Brixham Harbor

This was supposed to be an easy day, only about 8.5 miles, but it was one of my hardest. I didn't think I'd make it. That said, it was a pretty walk along the ocean front. We stopped for a tea and rest at a pub at about half way.

Brixham Harbor was a really interesting and pretty place. William of Orange landed there with about 20,000 soldiers to fight for Protestantism. There was also a replica of The Golden Hind which took Sir Francis Drake to circumnavigate the world.

We stayed at a funny hotel called The Berry Hill Hotel, an older hotel in the Berry Head Country Park. We went to Shoals on the Lido, a family owned fish restaurant, for dinner. It was the best way around, but we've had better. The view was nice and it was right next to a salt water pool that was regulated by the tide - e.g. when the tide was out, the pool was empty.
